The new DFT 380 trimming tool
ready for use at STRATA / UAE
MICADO, one of the global leaders for fully automated flexible tools, successfully delivered the DFT380 to FACC, Austria. FACC did a full functional test by clamping and machining of individual components. After technical verification and buy-off of the equipment, FACC delivered the equipment to STRATA / UAE.
With 32 digitally-controlled axes and 88 contact points, MICADO has managed to clamp 36 different Airbus-A380 flap track fairing components. With this concept, components ranging from 1 to 6 meters length can be clamped absolutely reliable and with the highest accuracy.
The delivery time took 8 months from the concept to the final acceptance.
