On 24 November 2023, MICADO opened its doors to all those interested in technology and presented itself as an innovative and future-oriented company.

Under the motto: “MICADO you can touch”, 3 classes from the HTL Lienz and the Lienz Technical School went on an interesting technology course with 5 stations in the morning. The almost 60 students were not only offered theoretical insights into the world of cutting-edge technology, but also the unique opportunity to experience it up close. Personal conversations with MICADO employees also conveyed to the young technicians the passion and commitment behind MICADO's innovations.

The morning was framed by a live Radio Osttirol broadcast directly from the newly built assembly centre. Interviews with the management and team leaders offered the audience exclusive insights into MICADO's past and future projects.

The gates were then opened to the general public from 2 pm. Company founder Edwin Meindl and his team welcomed around 1000 curious visitors. An information trail with 12 stations gave the numerous visitors an insight into the world of mechatronics and at the same time they were able to look over the shoulders of the MICADO technicians.
The visitors were particularly impressed by two current MICADO projects - a 7-tonne press tool for a new type of transport drone and a fully automated gluing system for kitchen appliances. There were also robotics stations from ABB and KUKA, where visitors had the opportunity to work side-by-side with the robots or challenge them in the well-known game "4-Gewinnt". Another highlight was the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of virtual reality and try it out in relation to the technology.

The open house event at MICADO was a complete success, as it impressively succeeded in making the technology of tomorrow tangible for young and old.

MICADO would like to thank all the guests and looks forward to providing exciting insights into the world of technology again and again.
