What a bonding fixture
needs to achieve

The quality of a bonded joint is determined by four critical process parameters—and these are significantly defined by the bonding fixture, not just by the adhesive itself.

Component Nesting

The component nest is created directly from CAD data and is precisely matched to the workpiece contour. Form-fitting supports and clear positioning ensure that the component can only be inserted in one orientation. If component designs change, only the nest inserts need to be replaced—the base body of the fixture remains intact.

Bond Line & Fixation

Mechanical stops and spacers ensure a constant bond line, resulting in a uniform adhesive layer thickness. Optimally positioned clamping and support points secure the component without deforming it. Guided upper sections allow for the precise joining of even large components and protect the adhesive bead during placement.

Application & Curing

The design of a bonding fixture is determined not only by the component but primarily by the bonding process. Open time, pot life, and adhesive curing influence cycle time, the number of nests, and the fixture design.
